I watched the Cory Booker v. Sharpe James documentary “Street Fight” recently, and it’s definitely worth watching for the footage, although the narration isn’t really any value added (much like Blade Runner, which I also just saw…). One of the best scenes is a prickly exchange halfway in between Booker and his staff, who are trying in vain to get him to promise not to list all the supporting statistics for each debate answer.
Also, it’s striking seeing how Booker bristles at fair attacks on his association with Republicans with the same intensity he bristles at James’ loathsome attacks on his race – the rhetoric he uses against racism and against partisanship seem to have the same moral tenor.
